| Lani played a very brief role in the recently released 2001 Australian film "Lantana" as Patricks lover. Although Lani's actual part was very small and his dialogue was should we say somewhat colourful in content, his performance was nonetheless stong and powerful comming across quite well with his trademark evil look. he is also seen briefly at the end in a cafe scene that we the viewer see at a distance but once again it is unmistakably Lani, a well rounded and versatile actor. 2001 Australian Film Institute Awards Audience Award for Best Feature, 2001 Melbourne International Film Festival: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor ( Anthony LaPaglia), Best Actress (Kerry Armstrong), Best Supporting Actress (Rachel Blake), Best Supporting Actor (Vince Colosimo), Best Adapted Screenplay. November 2002 won Best Foreign Film (English Language) Award at the British Independant Film Awards.
