To honour the arrival of the new addition to the Sorbo family we here at the OIKSFC wanted to do something different, give something more than just a welcome to the world gift.
We wanted something to not only celebrate but also to mark the occasion of the safe arrival of another wonderful little miracle into the lives of our hero Kevin and his wife Sam.
A special gift... one that will, just like the child, continue to grow over the years.

Our idea to Welcome the second Baby Sorbo into the world is to join together and become a
Koala Tree Sponsor.
Koala's are a protected and endangered species and their natural food is in short supply, resulting mostly from severe drought and ravishing bushfires that destroy thousands of acres of eucalyptus tree's... their only food and water source.... every year.

Once the baby is here and we know his full name we will then inform the wonderful people at the
Port Stephens Sanctuary and the sponsorship forms can be completed
When the sponsorship is finalized Kevin and Sam will be sent a certificate confirming their child's tree number
and the location where their child's tree has been planted.
A beautiful personalized certificate will have the baby's name and the date that they became a koala tree sponsor
on it and will also be sent to the proud parents as a nice keepsake.

The Sorbo family can always keep track of the life of their son's tree online and when browsing the site, other visitors and those fans who contributed will also be able to view the baby's name, tree number, tree location, city and country
and be proud to know that in a small way, together we have not only
celebrated a new birth but also helped to save a species for future generations to enjoy.

Along with this we will purchase a large soft cuddly toy Koala similar to the
one pictured which will be included with the certificate and sent to Kevin and Sam
on behalf of all those fans who contributed.


It will also include a specially selected Congratulations on the birth of your child card that will have the
contributers name city and country carefully written inside.

The response from fans was overwhelming so much so that not only does Shane have his own special tree planted to mark his birth but also seven more tree's were planted.
One for each member of the Sorbo family including Gizmo, plus one for each of the shows or movies that helped make Kevin famous, Hercules, Andromeda and Kull the Conqueror.

But wait there is still more, as you were all so very generous with your contributions we were able to add a few more small specially made or selected items to the welcome Shane into the world package.
